Migration

This term we have been learning about migration. We have done a lot of work on tjis so that we really understand about migration and why people choose or are forced to migrate to another country.

We learnt about the early settlers of Aotearoa and how the British colonised New Zealand.

We learnt about the causes and effects of people migrating to another country:

• Population increase
• Increased housing prices
• Less opportunities for housing and jobs.

We learnt about what what happens when people migrate from a country.

• More houses available and made cheaper 
• less doctors(poor medical services)
• less teachers(poor education)
• Less jobs available
• Population decrease
